The Art of Tea and Coffee

I drink tea to escape the din of life"
- T’ang Poet 7th Century CE

Ch'a-shu is the Chinese art of tea developed over 1600 years ago. It concerns ‘knowledge’ of tea: how it is grown, the different kinds, know what to look for when buying, the ceremonies and legends associated also the various ways of preparing.

Cris Martindale runs a specialist tea and coffee business within the Snowdonia National Park. In the first of two relaxed sessions at Pengwern he will introduce you to Ch'a-shu and in the second, the world of Indonesian, African and Latin American coffees providing you some excellent tastes, some stories, the art of coffee prepared in cafetieres and hopefully .... some fun.

Dates of this event can be arranged to suite your schedule, during week or weekends (excluding Public Holidays and September).

Suggested group size 4 to 6 people, with accommodation as offered by Pengwern Country House. Offer includes morning session, light lunch, followed by afternoon session.

Colin Morris is a local birdwatcher and former reserve warden with the RSPB
Colin will lead you on a walk either through local woods, along the rivers Machno and Conwy or in the upper part of the Machno Valley. You can meet Colin before your walk and discuss which option you would prefer.
